På torsdag, den 19 december, kommer Margaret Cho, feminist, ståuppkomiker, provokatör och lgbt-aktivist extraordinaire, för första gången till Finland för att uppträda med sin nya show Mother på Savoyteatern i Helsingfors. Astra fick chansen att ställa några frågor till henne.

 

Hi Margaret! How has the tour been going so far?

It’s been amazing. I have done a good number of dates all over the world and am thrilled to finally be embarking on my first european tour!

Tell us about the show! What should we expect to see when we sit down at the Savoy?

It’s all about the nastiness and joy and wisdom of aging – it’s an edgy show, a bit dangerous, lots of sex, drugs, controversy.

You’ve said it’s probably your edgiest show to date – why?

I go into a lot of specifics about bisexuality, fag hagism, which is my religion, abortion, guns, gay rights – it’s a very exciting show.

The show is titled Mother, but you do not have kids of your own – are you a mother in some other way?

I’m the baddest mother out there!
